"No one shines the suspense spotlight into the darkest corners of American homes brighter than Linwood Barclay. In this tautly written novel of suspense, Glen Carver is left with a daughter to raise and a head full of questions when his wife dies in a drunk-driving accident--one that she caused. Sheila wasn't a drinker. Sheila wasn't even supposed to be on the road where she died. A conspiracy is forming around Glen, one that involves virtually everyone he knows, and makes him wonder how well he knew the woman he married. If Carver is going to find out what really happened to his wife, he's going to have to seek a truth that could get him killed. If he's going to protect their daughter, he'll have to go even further."--Fantastic Fiction.

Gave up at chapter 3, he jumps around too much without a lead-in.

Not as suspensful as some of his other books and a bit predictable as well. It was okay but not memorable and certainly not Award worthy in my opinion.

This book is really good i usually read books extremely slow because i cant get hooked on to the story but when i read Barclay's books i cant put them down. He is an amazing writer. im not done this book but i read 16 chapters in 2 days and 16 chapters usually takes me like 5 days to read. He knows how to make an awesome mystery book. When i met him on a school trip he started talking about fear the worst and i just got caught on as soon as i got home i rented it out i read that book in 1 month. Then the other day i decided to see if he had any other books so i rented this one out. i can honestly say that Linwood Barclay is my favourite author ever. :)

I keep having high hopes of this writer - and I keep being let down. He's just not in the 'A' league.
